I'm John Stafford -- 30 -- Bristol, Rhode Island.
Currently, I'm an IT manager at a defense contractor. I started in IT doing odd jobs (home computer repair, Novell administration) during junior high school. After graduating in 1996 with a BA in computer science from Harvard, I became a submarine officer in the Navy. After migrating back toward enterprise IT, I was an engineer specializing in afloat networks and IT security for two years on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations. IT outweighed the call of the sea (and the Navy) to return to submarines, so I left the Navy in June 2003 and moved to Rhode Island where my wife, two dogs, and I are happily blogging away.
